초록
This study was undertaken to improve the policy efficacy of the "K-Convention Promotion and Support Program," a strategic initiative designed to bolster the global competitiveness of Korea's MICE industry. To this end, a content analysis of project reports was conducted to delineate the evolution of evaluation criteria over the six-year period from 2020 to 2025. The results indicate a progressive refinement of the K-Convention evaluation indicators, primarily driven by shifts in the external environment and evolving policy requirements. Furthermore, the evaluation framework has been streamlined to 31 core indicators, with a discernible shift in assessment priorities towards critical competencies such as event operation and program planning. A notable development identified was the substantial increase in the weighting assigned to sustainability (ESG) and safety management within the evaluation, reflecting prevailing global trends. Consequently, this study proposes several policy recommendations considered imperative for realizing the overarching objective of cultivating truly global conventions.
