경기대생의 양성 평등 의식에 관한 연구

초록

본 연구는 대학생의 양성평등의식 수준을 확인하는 기초연구를 수행하여 앞으로 대학생의 양성평등의식 향상에 도움이 되는 방안을 모색하려는 목적으로 진행되었다. 사용변인은 사회문화, 직업활동, 가정생활, 고육과 양육, 성(섹슈얼리티)의 5개 하위영역으로 구성된 양성평등 의식검사점수였다. 대상은 수원지역의 경기대학교에 재학하는 1-4학년의 남녀학생들이었다. 연구결과 첫째, 남학생에 비해 여학생의 양성평등의식 수준이 높았는데, 이는 5개 하위영역 모두에서 동일했다. 따라서 남학생들의 양성평등의식을 향상시키기 위한 방안을 강구할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 연령별 차이는 일부 영역에서 경향성은 있었으나 유의한 차이가 없었다. 셋째, 전공별로는 직업활동, 교육과 양육, 성(섹슈얼리티) 하위영역과 전체 점수에서 유의한 차이가 있었는데, 자연계열에 비해 인문계열 학생들의 양성평등의식 수준이 더 높았다. 따라서 자연계열 학생들의 양성평등의식 수준이 낮은 이유를 규명하고 이들의 양성평등의식을 향상시키는 방안을 모색할 필요가 있다. 앞으로 대학생들의 양성평등의식에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 구체적으로 확인하는 후속연구가 요청된다.

Abstract

This study has conducted a survey of awareness of gender equalitarianism of university students in order to help draw up a plan to improve gender equalitarianism of university students. The used variables were gender equalitarianism scale consisting of five subordinate items of social culture, occupational activities, family life, education and upbringing, and sexuality. The survey was made on undergraduates of Kyonggi University. The survey showed the following results; First, female students showed higher gender equalitarianism throughout the five subordinate items, thus suggesting that a plan should be drawn up for improvement of gender equalitaria- nism of male students. Second, a few items showed a tendency by ages, but significant difference was not found. Third, there was significant difference in the subordinate items of occupational activities, education and upbringing, and sexuality, and total scale by majors of students. Students studying natural sciences showed lower gender equalitarianism than students studying humanities. This suggests that the reason why students studying natural sciences have relatively low gender equalitarianism and a scheme should be framed to improve their gender equalitarianism. Subsequent studies to identify factors that have influence on gender equalitarianism of students are suggested to be conducted.
