Abstract

This study is based of idea which educational drama technique could be an effective method to cultivate the expression ability of students who are learning Korean language. In order to improve students’ Korean language expression ability, this study has been carried out on the plan of practical use of educational drama technique. For this purpose, This study defined the concept of educational drama technique. Furthermore, in order to improve students’ Korean language expression ability, plan of practical use of educational drama technique has been imposed into lesson procedures and lesson method and is presented in this study. The lesson procedures, from the step of preparing the lesson until the step of after the drama, are divided into 6 levels and the activity contents in every level are presented. And then every level will be consisted of 20 class hours and activities are subdivided into each period of lessons and the lesson procedures are presented. By using education drama technique, the activities of each lesson are divided into ice breaking, vocal expression and pronunciation practice, action expression practice, impromptu amusement drama, reading and understanding of the script, partial and whole practice of the drama, performance and evaluation, and these activities are presented. Besides, the lessons are formed from a variety of games and activities utilizing the education drama technique so that the students can develop Korean expression ability naturally through the process of accomplishing the drama. Lastly, looking at the significance and limitations of this study, future research subject direction is foreseen. The presentation of this study brings big significance as it can improve students’ Korean language expression ability through the plan of practical use of educational drama technique which can be imposed in Korean language lessons. Educational drama technique is meant to develop Korean language expression ability and verification of the effectiveness of the technique objectively and numerically and seeking developmental alternative which could be an important research subject in the future.
