Abstract
As the demand for forest healing, aimed at promoting public health, continues to increase, it is essential to establish professional infrastructure to provide forest healing programs. The Korea Forest Service has trained forest healing experts known as forest healing instructors and has issued more than 2,000 licenses so far. This study conducted a survey focusing on the current activities of individuals after obtaining certifications and the directions for improving the forest healing instructor training course for first and second-grade forest healing instructors produced by 2020. The forest healing survey included items related to respondents' current status and the certificates they hold, their economic activity, professional qualification standards, suggestions for improving the training process, and other opinions. The majority of forest healing instructor license holders were women in their 50s with a college degree or higher. Common areas for improvement in the training process for forest healing instructors included 'training materials' and 'practice time.' There was a high demand for strengthening subjects related to the skills required to conduct programs in the field. Based on these results, this study is expected to serve as foundational data for policy establishment to enhance the forest healing instructor certification process, increase satisfaction, and further integrate forest-related jobs.
