초록

Abstract

One of the most relevant themes of Roberto Bolaño’s Distant Star is the symbiotic and interdependent relationship between art and politics. The writer tries to point out, through a fictional fascist poet as a symbolic figure of art that loses the possibility of creating his own truth, not only the risk of the totalitarian regime but also that of avant-garde art united with it. He also shows that the political and artistic passion for create a new order has, as its primary condition, the destructive depuration against the dominant order. In this sense, the novel can be read from the discursive perspective of Alain Badiou as a reflection of the modern world plagued with the passion for the real and the depuration over the last century.
