대학에서 독일영화를 활용한 교육

본 논문에서는 영화가 하나의 내용으로서 교육되어야 함을 전제로 외국어교육에서 독일영화 교육의 방향성을 제안하고자 하였다. 구체적으로 수업에서 ‘리터러시’의 필요성을 전제로 영화교육을 위한 방향을 ‘영화에 대한 교육’과 ‘영화를 활용한 교육’으로 구분하였으며, ‘독일영화를 활용한 교육’을 그 실제로 제시하였다. ‘영화에 대한 교육’에서는 ‘영화 이해’, ‘영화 미학’, ‘영화 제작’을 그 내용으로 하였으며, ‘영화를 활용한교육’에서는 영화를 도구로 활용할 수 있는 기초적인지식을 내용으로 하여 수업모형을 계획하였다. 수업의실제에서는 ‘영화를 활용한 교육’의 모형을 통해 독일영화를 활용한 영화교육의 방법 및 효과를 정리하였다. 수업 모형은 독어교육과 전공 강좌인 ‘독일연극과영화교육’의 수강생이 영화를 선정하여 수업을 계획한것이며, 같은 시간에 독일어 강좌를 수강하는 학생들이본 수업을 참관하여 평가하였다. 전체 수업은 ‘표현연습 – 문화’의 순서로 진행되었고, 본 논문에서는 ‘예비교사 C’가 계획한 ‘독일문화’ 수업을 그 예로 제시하였다. 예비교사 C는 영화 <Good Bye, Lenin>(2003)을 통해 ‘독일 통일 과정’을 학습시키고자 하였다. 수업을참관한 학생들은 영화를 통해 독일의 문화를 좀 더 쉽고 재미있게 공부할 수 있었다고 평가하였다. 수업을담당했던 예비교사 A, B도 영화 선정에 어려움이 있었지만 영화의 유용성을 재확인할 수 있었다고 답하였다. 독일영화를 활용한 수업’의 실제를 통해 독일영화가교수⋅학습 매체로서 그 효과가 크다는 점을 다시 한번 확인할 수 있었다. 그럼에도 대학에서 영화교육을다각화해 나가기 위해서는 영화 선정 및 교육 방법에대한 논의가 계속해서 이어져야 할 것이며, 수업 모형에 대한 검증 또한 다각도로 시도되어져야 할 것으로본다.
Abstract
This article suggests a direction of German film education in foreign language education on the premise that films should be educated as content knowledge. In particular, in terms of the need of ‘literacy’ in the class, I divided film education into ‘education on films’ and ‘education using films’ and utilized ‘education using German films’ as a case study. In terms of teaching models, ‘education on films’ class contains film understanding, film aesthetics, film production and ‘education using films’ class includes basic knowledge using films as a tool. In class activities, I made use of teaching methods and effects of film education with German films through teaching models using ‘education with films’. Students selected films and class was planned with that in ‘German plays and films education’, which is a major course in German education department and other students who took German language course at the same period participated in the class and evaluated it. The whole class proceeded in the order of ‘expression practice’ and then ‘culture’. A class called ‘German culture’ by a teacher C was introduced as an instance. The aim of the teacher C was to instruct ‘the process of the unification of Germany’ through the film Good Bye, Lenin(2003). The students who participated in the class evaluated the class that they could learn German culture easily and with fun through the film. The teacher A, B who were in charge of the class answered that there was a difficulty in selecting a film but they could reaffirm the usefulness of films. We can make certain that German films are very effective as teaching and learning materials through the ‘class using German films’. However, there should be constant discussions on film selection and teaching methods to diversify film education at Universities and also more verification on class models from various angles.
