본고는 하치도 어민들의 생애담을 통해서 어로환경 인지와 어로활동 부분을 추출해 본 글이다. 어로활동과 관련하여 가장 중요한 맥락을 가지고 있는 선장과 어부, 그리고 배목수의 생애담을 통해서 하치도 어민들의 어로활동을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 간략하게 살펴본 생애담을 통해서는 대개 3~4대 이전에 영파를 중심으로 한 내륙으로부터 하치도로 입도해왔음을 추정해볼 수 있었다. 어로활동은 어로환경 인지와 매우 밀접한 관련이 있다는 점을 이들의 구술을 통해서 확인해 볼 수 있었다. 선장을 통해서는 선박이 태풍에 직면했을 때 대처하는 방식을 통해 바람과 물길에 대한 인지방식을 살펴보았다. 선원을 통해서는 조수의 흐름을 파악하는 여러 가지 방식과 조기의 울음을 통한 생태 인지방식 등을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 배목수를 통해서는 하치도 선박과 관련한 간략한 정보를 비롯하여, 어민들의 어로환경 인지체계가 민요라는 구전 체계를 통해서 전승되어 옴을 살필 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study has its purpose on the research on the environmental recognition and the fishery activity by the fishermen's life stories in Hashi Island. By the life stories of captain, crew, and carpenter which have the most important context concerned with fishery activities, the study could find out the fishermen's activities in Hashi Island. By the briefly examined life story, the study could assume that the inhabitants of Hashi Island entered from an inland centering around Ningbo about 3 or 4 generations ago. The study could figure out that the fishery activity was closely related with the recognition of fishery environment. The study could inquire into the captain's recognitive way about a wind and a waterway by their dealing them when he faced with a typhoon. By the crew, the study could inquire into many kinds of ways to grasp the flowing of the tides and the ecological recognitive way by the sound of a yellow corvina. By the carpenter, the study could inquire into a brief information related with ships in Hashi Island as well as inquire that the fishermen's recognitive system for the fishery environment had been transmitted by the oral system called a folk song.
