Abstract
The legal system for intangible cultural properties is the representative example of the intangible cultural heritage policy in Korea, that has performed an important role in preserving the traditional culture into modern era. The legal system for intangible cultural properties has gathered special attention internationally and has been received well. But the legal system for intangible cultural properties is fronted with many domestic problems and international changes of environment. The aim of this paper is to analyze and improve our legal system for intangible cultural properties. The betterment of legal system for intangible cultural properties; First, we review the laws related to intangible cultural properties. Second, we propose some suggestions about the legal principles for intangible cultural properties. At last, we suggest a new law on intangible cultural heritage.
