본 연구의 목적은 가정 내 어머니 자녀권리존중 실행이 영아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 영향을 살펴보는 것이다. 연구대상은 서울과 경기지역 소재 어린이집에 다니고 있는 만 2세 영아와 어머니 각각 309명이다. 자료 수집은 어머니의 자기보고식 설문조사와 담임교사의 영아 정서발달 평가를 통해 이루어졌다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0을 통해 분석하였다. 주요결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 만2세 영아 어머니의 자녀권리존중 실행은 ‘보호, 도움’ 영역에서 가장 높았고 ‘참여’ 영역에서 가장 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 자녀권리존중 실행 수준이 높은 어머니의 영아 자녀가 자녀권리존중 실행 수준이 낮은 어머니의 자녀에 비해 정서조절능력이 유의하게 높았으며 특히, ‘정서관리’ 능력에서 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 자녀권리존중 실행과 만2세 영아의 정서조절능력 간에는 전체적으로 유의한 정적 상관관계가 나타났다. 끝으로, 어머니의 자녀권리존중 실행은 영아의 정서조절능력 전체에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며 특히 어머니의 자녀에 대한 ‘배려’와 ‘참여’ 정도가 만2세 영아의 정서조절능력 발달을 예측하는 의미 있는 변인으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 어머니의 자녀권리존중 실행이 영아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 긍정적인 영향을 입증하였다는 점에서 연구의 의의를 지닌다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 어머니의 자녀권리 감수성 계발과 가정에서 영아자녀에 대한 배려와 참여의 기회를 제공할 수 있는 양육기술이 지속적인 부모교육을 통해 향상되어야 함을 제안하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of mother’s implementation of respecting children’s rights on the emotional control capacity of two-year old infant. Subjects of study was 309 two-year old infants and their mothers in daycare centers of Seoul and Gyunggi Province. Data collection was conducted by self-reported survey of mothers and infant behavioral assessment from the class teachers. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS21.0. First, it was shown that ‘protection and assistance’ were the most frequently implemented and ‘participation’ was the least implemented among the sub-factors of mother’s respecting children’s rights. Second, the emotional control capacity of infant whose mother with higher level of respect for children’s rights were significantly higher than that of mother with low level of respect for children’s rights. Especially, there was a significant difference in emotional management ability. Third, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the mothers ‘respect for their children’s rights and the emotional control capacity of their infant. Finally, mother’s implementation of respecting children’s rights had a positive effect on the whole emotional control capacity of the infant, especially the degree of ‘care’ and ‘participation’ of the mother were meaningful variable which affected on the development of emotional control capacity of the infant. This study has the meaning to prove that implementation of mother’s respecting children’s rights affects on the development of emotional control capacity of infants in positive way. Based on the results of this study, we suggest that parenting skills that can provide mothers’ sensitivity to children’s rights awareness and the opportunity to care for and participate in infant in the home should be improved through continuous parent education.
