한국형 유아성격강점척도(KICS-EC)의 개발 및 타당화

초록

본 연구는 우리나라 유아의 특성에 맞는 성격 강점 측정 도구의 개발 및 타당화에 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 서울 및 경기 지역 유아교육기관의 3∼6세 유아였다. 관련 문헌 및 선행 연구를 고찰하여 20개 성격 강점에서 각 7문항씩 총 140개 예비 문항을 제작하였으며, 유아 306명을 대상으로 예비조사를 실시하였다. 탐색적 요인분석을 거쳐 20개 성격 강점에서 각 4문항씩 총 80문항을 추출한 후 유아 477명을 대상으로 본 조사를 실시하였으며, 신뢰도, 확인적 요인분석을 통한 구인타당도, 심리적 건강성 및 행복 척도와의 상관분석을 통한 준거타당도를 검증하였다. 그 결과 리더십 강점, 낙관성 강점, 지성 강점, 대인관계 강점 등 4개 영역으로부터 19개 성격 강점에서 각 4문항씩 총 76문항으로 구성된 한국형 유아성격강점척도가 개발되었으며, 도구의 신뢰도와 타당도는 양호한 수준으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 유아기 성격 강점의 체계적 측정을 위한 토대를 구축하였다는 데 의의가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the Korean Inventory of Character Strengths for Early Childhood (KICS-EC). The subjects of this study were 3-6 years old children of kindergartens and child-care centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. Based on the related literatures and previous studies, a total of 140 preliminary questions were made, which consisted of 7 items for each strength from 20 character strengths and preliminary surveys were conducted for 306 children. Through exploratory factor analysis, a total of 80 items were extracted with 4 items for each strength from 20 character strengths. After that, 477 children were surveyed and the reliability and validity of the inventory were verified through the internal consistency, confirmatory factor analysis, and correlation analysis with psychological health and happiness. As a result, the KICS-EC consisting of 19 character strengths which 76 items from four domains including leadership strengths, optimistic strengths, intellectual strengths, and interpersonal strengths were developed and the reliability and validity of the inventory were good. This study is meaningful in that it established the basis for systematic measurement of young children's character strengths.
