본 연구는 발달장애 아동 및 청소년의 의사소통 문제와 관련된 삶의 질에 대하여 부모의 인식을 조사하였다. 이를 통해 부모들의 마음을 더 잘 이해하여 장애 아동의 교육 및 상담에 활용하고자 하였다. 발달장애 자녀의 의사소통 문제 관련 삶의 질에 대하여 부모 61명의 인식 특성을 알아보았다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 발달장애 자녀의 의사소통 문제 관련 삶의 질에서 불안, 지원 요구, 장벽 영역의 순으로 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 자녀의 연령대에 따른 부모 인식은 불안 영역에서 청소년의 부모 집단이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 발달장애 정도에 의해서는 고도 장애 자녀의 부모에게서 장벽, 불안 영역이 가장 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 자녀의 의사소통 문제와 관련된 삶의 질의 세 가지 범주 간의 매우 높은 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구 결과는 추후 부모 상담을 통해 자녀의 의사소통 지도에서 고려해야 할 요소를 파악하는 데 중요한 정보가 될 것으로 사료된다.
Abstract
This study investigated parents' perceptions of the quality of life related to communication problems in children and adolescents with developmental disabilities. The aim was to better understand parents' perspectives to utilize this understanding in the education and counseling of children with disabilities. The study examined the characteristics of perceptions of 61 parents regarding the quality of life related to communication problems in their children with developmental disabilities. The research findings indicate that firstly, in terms of the quality of life related to communication problems for children, anxiety was prominently followed by support demands and barriers. Secondly, parental perceptions in the anxiety domain were highest among parents of adolescents. Thirdly, depending on the developmental disabilities severity, parents of children with profound disabilities showed the highest levels of barriers, anxiety. Fourthly, there was a very high correlation between the three categories of the quality of life related to communication problems for children. These findings are deemed important information for identifying factors to consider in guiding children's communication through future parental counseling sessions.
