본 연구는 자녀의 발달에 직접적·간접적인 영향을 미치는 부모역할의 결정인자로 입증되어 온 양육효능감의 발달적 차이를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 자녀의 발달단계, 즉 유아기(3～5세), 아동기(6～12세), 청소년기(13～17세), 초기성인기(18～20세)별 어머니의 양육효능감 경험의 차이를 조사하였다. 연구1에서는 전반적인 양육효능감(PSOC)의 측정을 통해 그 차이를 확인하고, 연구2에서는 심층면접 자료에 대한 합의적 질적분석(CQR)을 통해 관련 핵심개념을 탐색함으로써 단계적 차이를 확인하고자 하였다. 연구1의 결과, 어머니의 전반적 양육효능감은 자녀의 발달단계에 따라 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 확인되었다. 연구2의 결과에서는 자녀의 각 발달단계의 고유한 발달적 특성을 반영하는 어머니의 양육효능감 관련 주요 핵심개념이 도출되어 그 질적 차이를 확인하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the developmental differences in parenting self-efficacy, which have been established as determinants of parental roles that directly and indirectly influence children's development. Accordingly, this research examined differences in mothers' experiences of parenting efficacy across their children's developmental stages, specifically infancy (ages 3-5), childhood (ages 6-12), adolescence (ages 13-17), and emerging adulthood (ages 18-20). In Study 1, quantitative differences in overall parenting efficacy (measured using the PSOC) were identified across these developmental stages. In Study 2, qualitative differences were explored by identifying core concepts related to parenting efficacy through consensual qualitative research (CQR) based on in-depth interview data. The results of Study 1 confirmed that mothers' overall parenting efficacy varied significantly depending on their child's developmental stage. Study 2 further identified key concepts related to mothers' parenting efficacy that reflected the developmental characteristics specific to each stage. This highlighted not only quantitative but also qualitative differences in how mothers experienced their parenting efficacy.
