Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine Song Hui-gyu's Bu literature and to clarify the characteristics of his Bu literature. The Bu work was analyzed focusing on the content and expression parts. Song Hui-gyu belonged to the Sarim in the early Joseon Dynasty. His works contained the Neo-Confucianism orientation of Sarim in the early Joseon Period. Through his Bu work, he showed his critical perception of real politics and how to overcome reality. During the time when Song Hui-gyu lived, a sahwa occurred, and the confrontation between the ruling classes was severely revealed. Song Hee-gyu's Bu literature reveals a critical consciousness of the reality in which Sarim was severely damaged. Song Hui-gyu wrote a Bu work that emphasizes education through Sohak and self-discipline as a way to improve this reality. Song Hui-gyu's Bu work shows the consciousness of the real politics of Sarim in the early Joseon Dynasty. Such a point reflects the universal mindset of Sarim, who recognized and tried to solve the problems of the times. Song Hui-gyu's Bu work is universal in that it contains the literary orientation of the time. The expressive part shows the unique characteristics of Song Hui-gyu's Bu literature. It frequently uses a method of enumerating historical events related to the subject. We can identify the characteristics that support his argument by presenting specific historical facts and adding an evaluation of them. And they use fresh and witty expressions to make their work interesting. Through such methods, the conceptual flow of content is expressed in a concrete and vivid manner, which can be said to have achieved literary achievements.
