에코익택트 훈련이 자폐성장애 아동의 조음능력과 말 명료도에 미치는 효과

이 연구는 에코익택트 훈련이 자폐성장애 아동의 조음능력과 말 명료도에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 연구 참여자는 언어발달이 전반적으로 1년 이상 지체되고 구어로 의사표현을 하지 않는 무발화 아동 1명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 설계는 행동간 중다기초선 설계를 적용하였고 기초선, 중재, 유지단계로 에코익택트와 택트의 어두초성 발생 횟수와 자음정확도, 단어단위 명료도율을 측정하였다. 본 연구에서의 에코익택트 훈련 단어는 참여자의 조음발달수준을 고려하고 우리말 조음음운발달에 근거하여 어두초성 위치의 양순음 /ㅁ, ㅂ/와 치조음 /ㄴ/, 치조음 /ㄷ/를 1음절, 2음절, 3음절 단어로 구성하였다. 실험결과는 양순음, 치조음을 음절 수별로 에코익한 결과 종속변인인 어두초성 발생 횟수가 빠르게 증가되었고, 회기 수가 증가됨에 따라 단어의 자음정확도와 단어단위 명료도율도 증가되었다. 중재가 끝난 후에도 그 효과가 유지되고 있었으며 친숙하지 않은 대상에게 명료도를 검사한 결과 명료도가 유의미하게 증가된 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 에코익택트 훈련이 조음능력을 발달시키며 명료도 또한 증가시키는데 효과적임을 확인하였다. 또한 에코익에서 독립적인 택트가 증가되었으므로 자폐성장애 아동의 언어습득과 의사소통 능력이 증가될 수 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
The study investigated the effects of echoic-tact training on articulation ability and speech intelligibility in children with autism. This study had one participant who had more than a year of delay in language development and was nonverbal with only few vocalizations. The study was designed with multiple baseline design across behaviors. Multiple baseline design across behaviors was used with phases of baseline, intervention, and maintenance. Frequency of occurrence for anlaut initial consonant, articulation accuracy of consonant and proportion of whole word proximity(PWP) were measured for both echoic-tact and tact. The words used for echoic-tact training were created considering articulation phonological developmental level of the participant and also based on development of articulation phonology in Korean. The words list were composed of one syllable, two syllables, and three syllables words with bilabial of anlaut initial consonant /m, b/, alveolar /n/, and alveolar /d/. The result of the study indicated that performing echoic for bilabial and alverolar by the number of syllables accordingly rapidly increased the frequency of occurrence for anlaut initial consonants. As the number of trials increased the articulation accuracy of consonants and PWP increased as well. After the intervention the effect was maintained. Speech intelligibility test was taken with unfamiliar people and the result showed significant increase in speech intelligibility. These outcomes show that echoic-tact training was effect to improve the articulation ability and also to increase in articulation accuracy. Moreover increase in independent tact was observed during echoic which suggests improvements of language acquisition and communication skills for children with autism.
