Abstract
This study was designed to investigate relations between the implementation degree of the Universal Design for Learning(UDL) principle by inclusive class teachers and the variables related to students with disabilities and teachers. The subjects thus include inclusive class teachers. The investigator selected total 184 inclusive teachers through random sampling and used their data for analysis. An overseas scale to measure teachers' perceptions of UDL implementation and application was translated and used for the study after testing it for item organization and reliability. The findings show that inclusive class teachers' implementation degree of UDL had something to do with the communication abilities of students with disabilities, which had in turn influences on the implementation degree of UDL through teacher- and student-related variables as mediator variables. First- and second-hand experiences turned out to be important teacher-related variables affecting the implementation degree of UDL by inclusive class teachers. Based on those findings, the study made a proposal for expanded opportunities for inclusive class teachers to have first- and second-hand experiences and more efforts to develop educational programs to help them increase their professionalism.
