고속∙고집적 반도체 소자기술과 디지털 컴퓨터 기술의 발달은 방송 프로그램 제작, 송출과 방송전파의 디지털화까지 차례로 가능하게 하였다. 방송의 디지털화는 다매체, 다채널 환경을 만들었고 이러한 방송환경에서는 방송사가 채널의 희소성에 관한 것보다는 서비스 해야 할 콘텐츠에 더 큰 비중을 두게 되었다. 방송사에게 콘텐츠는 자산이 되었고, 방송사는 프로그램의 품질과 제작 후 관리를 중요시 하게 되었다. 디지털 프로그램 제작 시스템은 디지털 스튜디오, 논리니어 편집, 가상 시스템 등으로 이루어져 화질과 음질을 보장하고 영상구현 영역의 확장이 가능하게 되었다. 이러한 디지털 제작 시스템과 DB화된 프로그램 및 제작 소재를 고속 네트워크로 접속하고 이것을 이용한 프로그램의 제작, 편집, 송출 등을 일괄 처리할 수 있는 제작 시스템 모델이 향후의 디지털 제작의 기반 시스템으로 제시되고 있다. 이 글에서는 우선 방송제작 시스템의 디지털화 과정과 특징에 대하여 살펴보았다. 그리고 향후 디지털 제작 시스템의 변화, 이 디지털 제작 시스템이 가지고 올 제작의 내적 변화와 외적 변화에 대하여 전망하고 방송사와 제작사가 풀어야 할 멀티 채널 음성 서비스, 제작 네트워크 시스템, 인력양성, 기술개발 과제를 제시하였다.
Abstract
Broadcasting program production, distribution and transmission system have been being digitalized by very high speed and LSI digital chip and computer technology. Several media and a lot of channels came of Digital broadcasting technology, therefore broadcasting companies consider that the contents are more important than the rarities of channel. The contents are property of broadcasting companies, and broadcasting companies are considering that quality of programs and management after production are important. Digital production system is build up of digital studio, nonlinear editing system, virtual system, etc., it can support video and audio quality, and expand the real area to be made of video. Digital production system and contents DB(data base) are being connected high speed network each other, and in this environment, productions, editings and distributions could be carried out in which production system model has been suggested In this thesis, the progress and characteristics of broadcasting production systems being digitalized are investigated, trend of digital production system and internal and external changes which are come of digital production system are prospected. Issues about multichannel audio service, network production system, training of manpower and development of technology about digital production are suggested.
