부모와 학교의 친인권적 태도가 청소년의 인권의식에 미치는 영향의 성차

본 연구의 목적은 부모와 학교의 인권 친화적인 태도가 청소년의 인권의식과 태도에 미치는 영향의 성별 차이를 규명하고, 인권교육에 시사점을 제시하는 데 있다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해서 한국청소년정책연구원에서 제공하는 2022년 아동․청소년 인권실태조사의 중고등학생 데이터를 분석했다. 독립변수는 인권친화적 양육태도와 학교운영이고, 매개변수는 학생인권의식이며, 종속변수는 차별행동과 장애인 인권에 대한 태도 등이다. 연구문제를 규명하기 위해 구조방정식모형분석을 적용했는데, 연구결과 부모의 양육태도와 학교의 학생존중은 청소년의 인권의식에 유의미한 긍정적 효과를 가지고 있었다. 또한 청소년의 인권의식은 차별에 대해 유의미한 억제효과가 있었고, 장애인 인권존중에는 유의미한 긍정적인 효과가 있었다. 또 이러한 구조모형에 대해 다집단 구조방정식 모형분석 결과 부모의 양육태도가 인권의식에 주는 영향은 여학생 집단에서 더 높게 나타났다. 인권친화적 학교운영이 인권의식에 주는 긍정적인 영향은 남학생 집단에서 더 높게 나타났으며, 인권의식이 차별행위에 대해 가지는 억제효과와 장애인 인권에 대한 긍정적 태도 역시 남학생 집단에서 더 높게 나타났다. 향후 여학생에 대한 인권교육을 위해서는 이러한 연구결과를 참고하여 구체적, 관계적 맥락에서 교육을 설계할 필요가 있다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the gender differences in the impact of human rights-friendly attitudes from parents and schools on adolescents’ awareness and attitudes toward human rights, and to provide implications for human rights education. To achieve this research objective, data from the 2022 Survey on the Human Rights Conditions of Children and Adolescents, provided by the National Youth Policy Institute of Korea, were analyzed using responses from middle and high school students. The independent variables are parental attitudes and respect for students within the school, while the mediating variable is the awareness of student rights. The dependent variables include attitudes toward individuals with disabilities and discriminatory behaviors. To address the research questions, structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis was employed. The results revealed that both parental attitudes and respect for students at school had significantly positive direct effects on adolescents' human rights awareness, with a significantly negative indirect effect on discrimination and a significantly positive indirect effect on the respect for disability rights. Furthermore, multi-group SEM analysis indicated that the influence of parental attitudes on human rights awareness was more pronounced among female students. On the other hand, the positive impact of human rights-friendly school management on human rights awareness was stronger among male students, whose awareness of human rights showed greater suppressive effects on discriminatory behaviors, along with more positive attitudes toward disability rights.
