원불교 소태산대종사의 대각과 그 교리적 영향

본고는 원불교의 창교자인 ‘소태산의 깨달음과 그 교리적 영향’라는 주제이다. 치열한 구도과정을 통하여 깨달음을 얻은 소태산은 대각 후에 당시의 세상을 바라보고 그 세상의 문제를 해결하는 가장 중요한 방법으로 진리적 종교의 신앙과 사실적 도덕의 훈련이라는 중요한 개념을 내세우게 된다. 소태산은 우선 현실적 문제를 해결하고 회상의 기초를 세우기 위한 저축조합운동 방언공사 법인성사의 과정을 거친 후에 일원상 삼학 사은 사요로 이어지는 일련의 교리체계를 제정발표하게 된다. 대각 후 최초로 행한 일련의 활동들이 당시의 민중들에게 현실생활을 합리적으로 타개하기 위한 방법인 저축조합운동과 방언공사였다는 점에서 원불교가 지향하는 종교의 기본 방향을 읽어낼 수 있다. 이어 법인성사에서 보여준 사무여한의 정신은 종교적 운동을 본격적으로 준비하기 위한 법계인증의 과정과 제자들의 정신규합의 역할을 하는 중요한 의미를 담고 있는 종교적 신비현상이라고 할 수 있다. 또한 원불교 교리의 근간을 형성하고 있는 교리인 일원상 삼학 사은 사요는 각각 진리성 회통성 사실성 사회성을 표방하고 있다. 그리고 이 모든 교리의 전면에 흐르고 있는 병진성이 원불교 교리의 특징이다. 하지만 이제는 시대는 21세기로 변화하였다. 이러한 시대에 원불교는 진리성 회통성 사실성 사회성 병진성 등으로 요약되는 입각지를 훼손하지 않는 범위 내에서 21세기 한국사회와 세계사조의 흐름에 맞게 교리와 제도를 재해석하는 작업을 해내야 할 것으로 보인다.
Abstract
This paper attempts to understand "Wonbuddhism Grand master Sotaesan's Enlightenment and its dogmatic Influence". Grand Master Sotaesan, who attained his own enlightenment through the intensive courses of seeking after truth, looked over the world in those days after his own enlightenment and established the important concepts of religious belief on the base of truth and real morality training as a way to solve various problems on the world. Sotaesan had firstly solved many pending problems in those days, gone through a serious of the works from Saving Union Movement to the Project of Embankment and Bubinsungsa, and then declared the system of Wonbuddhism doctrines such as Ilwonsang, Samhak, Saun, and Sayo. It can be said that the serious of works such as Saving Union Movement and Project of Embankment after the enlightenment had been conducted as an effort to solve many problems facing on the lives of general people and to find a reasonable way. Through the spirits of the works, we can briefly read the religious direction of Wonbuddhism. And then the spirit of "Sacrifice with No Regret" viewed in the course of Bubgyeinjeng (Religious authentication of Wonbuddhism) can be said as a mysterious developing which had an important meaning of religious authentication and his disciples's spiritual gathering to prepare religious movement in earnest. Also, Each of Ilwonsang, Samhak, Saun, and Sayo, which consist of the base of Wonbuddhism Doctrines, represents truthfulness, muturl understanding(會通), reality, and sociality. And then, the spirit of advance side by side of spirit and body can be found on the every place of Wonbuddhism Doctrines and can be a representative characteristic of Wonbbuddhism. However, the present of 21century is the transition period to a new world. Upon facing a new world, Wonbuddhism should re-interpret and re-organize its doctrines and systems corresponding with the trend of the 21C Korean society and the new world order with no harm on the spirits of truthfulness, muturl understanding(會通), reality and sociality, and the spirit of advance side by side of spirit and body
