Kumkangdaedo, a new religion believing in Kunkonbumo’s advent in the world as a savior, claims for the advent of Ojungundo temporally. Ojung indicates the transition between the prior world(Sunchun) and the latter world(Huchun), and is the period of the most brilliant brightness, of equality, and of peace in which Sanggeuk is turned into Sangsaeng. This philosophy of Ojung-Equality can be interpreted into various meanings;First it means the equality between heaven and earth; Second, it means the equality between heaven/earth and humans; Third, it means the equality of all mankind. Fourth, it means the equality between man and all creation;Fifth, the equality between life and death. It not only teaches us that Heaven and Earth, man, and all creation should live together as partners, but also calls for practicing non-violent culture and respect for life. The philosophy of ‘Cosmic familial harmony’ through the faith for Kunkonbumo in Kumkangdaedo provides us with necessary ecological spirituality by creatively subliming the organic and monoist Oriental view of world. On the other hand, Kumkangdaedo’s theory of the union of the three teachings, Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taosim, presents a view of tolerance and harmony for other religions in this period of religious pluralism in which the reconciliation among religions are desperately needed. The world today requires us to overcome our individual particularities and to make efforts toward the common goals, the survival and prosperity of mankind with the consciousness of the fact that all of us are members of one global village. For this, it is necessary to escape from the hierarchical structure of unilateral ruling and oppression and hence to shift our recognition to the fact that each existence is dependent on and organically related to others. In this respect, we want to get possibilities and clues for radically change our forms of life from Kumkangdaedo’s cosmic equality and spirit of Gahwa, and hope that this will be developed into concrete practical movements by achieving universality within the philosophies of Korea and East Asia.
