본 연구는 사업체패널조사를 활용하여 고정된 대체탄력성을 갖는 (Constant Elasticity of Substitution, CES) 생산함수를 2단계 비선형 추정법을 통하여 사업체 단위에서의 각 연령층 간 대체탄력성을 실증적으로 추정하였다. 추정 결과, 사업체 단위에서 각 연령 집단 간에 약한 대체관계를 발견하였지만 추정결과가 강건하진 않았다. 또한 중년층과 다른 연령 그룹 간 대체관계가 다른 연령 간 대체탄력성보다 전반적으로 더 유의하다는 것을 발견하였다. 이질성 분석 결과, 청년층은 제조업에서 다른 연령 집단과 강한 대체관계를, 중년층은 비제조업에서 강한 대체관계를, 그리고 노년층은 전반적으로 대체탄력성이 높지 않은 모습을 보였다.
Abstract
This study empirically examines the elasticity of substitution between age groups at the workplace level. To this end, I estimate the Constant Elasticity of Substitution (CES) production function non-linearly with Workplace Panel Survey (WPS) data. The findings indicate limited substitutability between age groups, although the results are not robust across different model specifications. Moreover, the analysis reveals that the degree of substitution between the middle-age group and other age groups is relatively more pronounced compared to other cases.
