This paper aims to understand the progymnasmata of the classical rhetoric and to develop an education model for student writing using the progymnasmata of the classical rhetoric and the film with an example of Lee Chang-Dong's Poetry. This paper consists of three parts. First, it shows, how the 14 progymnasmata are practiced in classical rhetoric pedagogy and that they are in general exercises by means of such narrative texts as fable, myth, and historical and literary text. Therefore, it is justifiable to try to apply the film to the progymnasmata. Second, the narrative structure of the latest film Poetry Lee Chang-Dong's is analysed. Third, it is offered a plan to apply matters of the film Poetry as writing materials to the progymnasmata.
