한국 수사학 연구 20년의 동향과 흐름 -<수사학> 게재 논문의 제목과 키워드 분석을 중심으로

이 연구는 학회지 『수사학』에 대한 정량 분석을 통해 한국 수사학 연구의 동향과 흐름을 살펴본 것이다. 지난 20년간 『수사학』에 게재된 논문 404편의 제목에 사용된 단어와 초록의 키워드를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 제목 단어와 초록 키워드에서 빈출한 주제어는 ‘수사학’, ‘수사’, ‘교육’, ‘연설’, ‘글쓰기’, ‘설득’, ‘의사소통’ ‘논증’, ‘대통령’이었다. 수사학 연구가 교육과의 관련 속에서 많이 이루어졌으며, 연설의 기술 혹은 연설(텍스트)에 대한 수사학적 분석 논문이 다수 게재되었음을 알 수 있었다. 이를 다시 5년 단위로 구분하여 분석한 결과, 수사학과 교육, 수사학과 연설(문)에 대한 연구가 시기별로 고르게 이루어진 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 게재 논문의 주제를 9개의 범주로 나누어 연구 동향을 살핀 결과, ‘텍스트에 대한 수사학적 분석’ 연구가 가장 많이 이루어졌으며 ‘수사학에 대한 이론적, 학문적 탐구’가 그다음으로 많이 이루어진 것을 알 수 있었다. 이를 다시 기수별로 분석한 결과, 1기에는 수사학의 역사와 전통에 관한 연구의 비중이 높았으며, 개별 텍스트에 대한 수사학적 분석 연구는 1기에서 4기로 가면서 점차 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 마지막으로 사회연결망 분석을 통해 키워드 간 관계를 살펴본 결과, ‘수사학’과 ‘수사’가 가장 강한 중심성을 지니는 키워드이며 ‘연설’, ‘교육’ ‘글쓰기’, ‘설득’이 ‘연결 중심성’, ‘매개 중심성’, ‘아이겐벡터 중심성’ 모두 상위를 차지하는 주제어인 것으로 나타났다. 이들 키워드는 출현 빈도와 키워드의 중심성이 고루 높게 나타나 수사학 연구에서 중요한 주제로 다루어지며 연결망 내에서의 영향력도 높은 것을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
This paper quantitatively analyzed Korean Journal of Rhetoric to examine the trends and development of rhetorical studies in Korea. The results of the analysis of keywords from the titles and abstracts of 404 papers published in the journal over the past 20 years are as follows. The frequently recurring keywords extracted from the titles and abstracts were ‘rhetorical studies’, ‘rhetoric’, ‘education’, ‘speech’, ‘writing’, ‘persuasion’, ‘communication’, ‘argumentation’, and ‘president’. It was evident that within rhetorical studies, there was a significant focus on education and active research into the techniques of speech or rhetorical analysis of speeches (texts). The analysis, categorized into five-year periods, revealed a consistent prevalence of research on rhetorical studies and education, as well as rhetorical studies and speeches (texts) in each period. The examination of published papers divided into nine categories revealed the research trends. It was evident that research on the ‘rhetorical analysis of texts’ was the most prevalent, followed by studies exploring ‘theoretical and academic investigations of rhetorical studies’. Further analysis categorized by periods showed a higher emphasis on the history and tradition of rhetorical studies in the 1st period. Moreover, there was a gradual increase in individual textual rhetorical analysis from the 1st to the 4th period. Lastly, through social network analysis, it was observed that ‘rhetorical studies’ and ‘rhetoric’, held the strongest centrality among the keywords. Additionally, ‘speech’, ‘education’, ‘writing’, and ‘persuasion’ occupied top positions in terms of ‘degree centrality’, ‘betweenness centrality’, and ‘eigenvector centrality’. These keywords consistently demonstrated high occurrence frequencies and centrality within the network, signifying their significance as critical themes within rhetorical studies and their substantial influence within the network.
