Vocabulary acquisition is the most basic element in language learning. Learners should acknowledge that much of vocabulary consists of prefabricated chunks of different kinds. Native speakers store large amounts of language in chunks(collocations) unlike non-native speakers. Therefore the most important task facing language learners to improve their communicative competence is acquiring a sufficiently large vocabulary. With the importance of collocation learning, teachers should investigate various strategies and effective activities for collocations. In this paper 10 instruction methods will be presented.
