The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects and interest of English programs during an elementary English camp at a local university in Busan. The English camp was held for three weeks during the summer vacation, and 86 elementary school students from 3rd grade to 6th grade participated. The data for this study were collected from the entrance and exit survey questionnaires from the students. The results of this study showed that the English camp had positive effects on the students’ English learning and communicative competence in English. Generally, the students were strongly satisfied with the immersion program and their interest in studying English had increased. However, several negative effects were found in the dormitory English immersion program because of after-school activities. Possible reasons and pedagogical suggestions for more effective English immersion programs during the elementary English camp were provided.
