초록

The objective of this research is to do environment-friendly indigo dyeing using maltose and yeast. The fabrics used in this research were cotton, rayon, silk, and wool. The natural dyestuff used in this research were indigo dye. The indigo dye was reduced from the process of thermo-fermentation controlled at 60℃ for 240minutes with maltose and yeast used as agents. First, all four kinds of samples showed PB or P color after being repeated dyeing 5 times and 10 times by colorimetery. Compare to 5 times of dyeing, in case of 10 times of dyeing, brightness and chroma became low and color became deep. Second, as the results of surface K/S measurement, the K/S of cotton dyed 5 times and 10 times were 17 and 27, accordingly K/S increased by 10 by 10 times dyeing compared with 5 times. The K/S of rayon was 20, 22, accordingly there was no big change. The K/S of silk dyed 5 times and 10 times were 13 and 17, accordingly K/S increased by 4 by 10 times dyeing compared with 5 times. The K/S of wool was 26, 29, accordingly there was no big change. Third, the results of light fastness and washing fastness measurement are as follows. All fabrics showed the superiority by over grade-4 in light fastness. All fabrics showed the superiority by over grade-3~4 in washing fastness, and dry cleaning fastness of all fabrics was satisfactory or excellent by over grade-3. Fourth, every fabrics were dyed 5 times and 10 times. Considering the results of tensile strength measurement, the tensile strength of cotton and rayon was increased a little. But, in the case of other fabrics, the tensile strength was decreased as dyeing was repeated. Fifth, the results of density measurement are as follows. The density of cotton decreased about 15~20% in case of warp of all samples, and deceased 10% in case of weft of all samples. The density of rayon decreased 20% in case of warp of all samples, and increased 30% in case of weft of all samples.
