Hans Urs von Balthasar(1905-1988)은 매 10년마다 자신의 신학작품들에 대해서 간략한 결산 보고서를 발표하였다. 그의 정기적인 자기해석적 작품들은 신학자들 가운데에서 매우 드문 현상이다. 이 일련의 회고들을 통해서 그는 자기 신학적 여정의 이정표들을 제시하고 특정 주제를 부각시키거나 그의 사상에 대한 해석에서 오해를 불식시키고자 하였다. 또 신스콜라적 신학의 체계적인 스케마를 벗어나서 기존의 형이상학적 분석 체계를 대체하는 새로운 신학 방법론을 추구하고 구현하고자 하였다. 그의 자기해석적 작품들은 새로운 체계의 특징적인 몇 가지 동력이 서서히 생성되고 전개되는 모습을 보여준다. 그것은 삼부작의 스케마, 곧 미학, 드라마, 신-학(theo-logy)으로 종합되며 상승과 하강, 집중과 분산이 교차되는 형태를 띤다. 그래서 삼위일체 하느님의 친교가 하느님 사랑의 충만인 그리스도의 십자가와 성체성사에서 하느님의 영광을 드러내고, 그리스도의 사랑의 충만인 교회가 그리스도께 동화되는 모방으로써 교회적 친교를 확산하면서 하느님의 영광을 발산한다. 이처럼 그리스도 중심적인 수렴과 분산의 양방향성을 지닌 역동적인 체계가 하느님의 사랑과 그 사랑을 받으며 그리스도 안에서 창조되고 구원된 세상을 연결하는 폰 발타살의 전망을 이루고 있다.
Abstract
Hans Urs von Balthasar published every ten years a brief report on his theological works. Writing regular autointerpretative works is a very rare phenomenon among the theologians. By a series of recalls, he intended to present the milestones of his theological journey, to highlight specific topics and to dispel misunderstandings about his works. He tried to overcome a systematic schedule of the neoscholastic theology and to realize a new theological methodology that replaces the metaphysical systems. His autointerpretative works represent a few features of the new system gradually being developed. They are integrated in the schema of the trilogy, where aesthetics, drama, theo-logy construct a comprehensive school that takes the form of a cross of ana-logy and cata-logy, convergence and dispersion. The Trinitarian communion radiates the glory of God revealed in Christ, the fullness of God’s love, especially in his cross and the Eucharist. The Church as the fullness of Christ’s love radiates also the glory of God expanding the ecclesial communion by means of an assimilation to Christ. Such a dynamic system with bi-directional Christ-centered convergence and dispersion consists in the vision of von Balthasar which connects the love of God with the beloved world as his creation created and saved in Christ.
