유아의 사회인구학적 요인 및 기질, 편식여부, 어머니의 부모역할만족이 유아의 행복에 미치는 영향

초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 사회인구학적 요인, 기질, 편식여부, 어머니의 부모역할만족과 같은 생태학적 변인이 유아의 행복에 미치는 영향을 조사하는 것이다. 연구대상은 유아교육기관에 재원한 유아와 어머니 235쌍이다. 유아의 사회인구학적 요인, 기질, 편식여부, 그리고 어머니의 부모역할만족은 유아의 어머니 235명이 평정하였고 유아의 행복은 담임교사 24명이 평정하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아의 행복을 예측하는 주요 변인은 연령, 성별, 출생순위와 같은 사회인구학적 요인, 유아 기질의 진정성과 편식여부, 그리고 부모역할만족의 하위요인인 자녀의 지지이었다. 둘째, 유아 기질의 진정성이 유아의 행복에 영향을 미치는데 있어, 부모역할만족의 하위요인인 자녀의 지지가 매개역할을 하였다. 이와 같은 연구결과에 기초하여 유아 행복에 대한 측정 및 중재를 위한 시사점을 논의하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate which factors influence the happiness of young children. The input factors were socio-demographic factors, temperament, unbalanced diet, and the parental role satisfaction of mothers. The study participants were the mothers (n = 235) and the teachers (n = 24) of the 235 preschool children. The results were as follows: First, demographic factors such as age, sex and birth order were found most important predictors of young children’s happiness. Temperament, unbalanced diet, and parental role satisfaction of mothers were also found important predictors. Second, children’s support, one of subcategories in the parental role satisfaction was found to partially mediate the effect of children's temperament (i.e. soothability) on their happiness. The study results suggested further discussion on needs for the intervention and the methodology for the measurement of children’s happiness.
