유아 생태소양척도 개발

A study on the development of an ecoliteracy scale for young children

초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 생태소양을 측정하기 위한 척도를 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 SPSS 23.0, AMOS 22.0 통계프로그램을 활용하여 전 문항 응답 값의 평균, 표준편차, 빈도, 백분율을 구하였고, 연구변수로서 요인을 구성하는 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 시행하였다. 더불어 연구변수를 구성하는 문항 간 신뢰도 분석을 하였다. 또한, 연구변수의 기술 통계량을 제시하고 정규성을 검토하였다. 유아 생태소양척도의 개발 단계에 최종 도출된 문항 개수는 전체 50문항이며, 그 중 5개의 역 문항으로 구성되었다. 척도의 측정 형태와 양식 구성은 성인 평정용, 5점 Likert 척도로 하였다. 서울, 경기, 충청, 전라, 경상, 강원 지역에 소재하고 있는 73개 유아교육기관에 재원 중인 만 4, 5세 유아 1,249명에게 유아 생태소양 측정 도구를 적용한 결과 모든 문항이 기준치에 적합하였다. 탐색적 요인분석으로 8개의 하위 요인을 추출하였고, 확인적 요인분석을 통해 도구의 구성타당도를 검증하는 과정에서 50개 문항 전체가 양호한 기준으로 도출되었다. 자연의 권리 6문항, 지원 의도 5문항, 자원 보호 8문항, 생태 감수성 8문항, 생태사회관계 5문항, 생태 개발 6문항, 자연 지배 6문항, 생태 위기 무관심 6문항으로 구성되었다. 최종 도구의 설명력은 77.0%, 신뢰도는 Cronbach’s α .788이었다.

Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to develop a scale to measure ecoliteracy in Korean young children and evaluate its validity and reliability. To examine the validity and reliability of the ecoliteracy scale for young children, statistical analyses were performed utilizing data from a main survey. SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 22.0 statistical software were used to carry out the exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis of the research variables, including the means of response values, standard deviations, frequencies, and percentages. In addition, analysis of internal consistency reliability and Pearson’ correlations was performed concerning the questions that comprised the research variables. Furthermore, descriptive statistics of the research variables were proposed and normality was examined. The final number of items contained in the scale was 50, including five reverse score questions. Items were measured using a 5-point Likert scale. The ecoliteracy scale for young children was applied to 1,249 young children, whose ages were between four and five years, attending 73 institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Chungcheong Province, Jeolla Province, Gyeongsang Province, and Gangwon Province. Results revealed that all items met the statistical standards. The process of verifying construct validity of the scale by confirmatory factor analysis gathered all the 50 items that met statistical standards and eight primary factors/subcategories were extracted through exploratory factor analysis. The scale consisted of six items related to the “rights of nature,” five items for “intent of support,” eight items for “care about resources,” eight items for “ecological sensitivity,” five items for “ecological social relationships,” six items for “eco-development,” six items for “domination of nature,” and six items for “apathy towards eco-crisis.” R² of the final scale was 77.0%, and Cronbach’s α reliability coefficient was .788.
