A Study on the Application of Warp Knit in Modern Fashion

In the past, the common fabric represented the largest portion as clothing material. The recent rate of this fabric is on the decrease and, instead, fabric knit is now being replaced. Among the knit fabrics, the warp knit shows the development by leaps and bounds. Even though there is such a great development of warp knit clothing market, it is a reality that the study about warp knit doesn't meet the expectation greatly and there is a necessity to examine this. Therefore, this study aims at looking into warp knit types used in the modern fashion and its application characteristics. Results are as follows. Type of warp knit in the modern fashion was divided largely into porous warp knit and dense warp knit. In the former, tricot mesh tissue and rashel lace tissue were applied. In the latter, tricot raising finish tissue and tricot blended tissue were adopted. Expression characteristics in the warp knit of modern fashion appeared as ornamentality, transparency and flexibility.
