본 연구는 TV드라마가 재현하는 분단 문제에 주목하였다. 연구 대상 작품인 <사랑의 불시착>은 남쪽의 재벌 딸과 북쪽의 고위 정치인 아들 사이에 벌어지는 사랑 이야기이다. 이 드라마는 이야기 형식과 소재의 이질적인 결합을 통해 상업적 성공을 거두고 있다. 겉 이야기의 형식은 ‘운명적 만남―사랑―결합’이라는 로맨틱 드라마 장르의 특징을 드러낸다. 이야기의 소재는 분단 현실에 주목하고 있다. 역설적이게도 이런 이질적인 결합이 드라마의 상업적 성공을 이끌고 있다. 본 연구의 관심은 첫째, 분단문제의 재현 양상과 관련하여 기존의 패러다임과 어떻게 다르며, 그 의미는 무엇인가? 둘째, 새로운 리더십의 등장은 가족주의 담론, 혹은 국가주의 담론의 퇴조 서사로 환원이 가능한가? 등이다. 우선 선행연구들은 매우 다양한 관심사들을 반영하고 있지만, 정작 분단문제의 재현 양상과 의미에 대한 연구 동기를 해소하기에는 거리가 있었다. 본문에서 연구과제와 관련하여 ‘기대―기대위반’이라는 도식을 통해 설명하였다. 이어 새로운 리더십의 등장과 그 의미를 논구하였다. 연구 결과, 다음과 같은 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 첫째, 이 작품에 재현된 분단 문제는 외적·환경적 요인의 변화에 의해 추동된 것이 아니라, 작품의 재현 패러다임이 거꾸로 외부 환경의 변화를 견인하고 있다는 점이다. 둘째, 등장인물의 관계 분석을 통해 새로운 형태의 리더십이 등장한 것으로 해석할 수 있으며, 이는 낡은 가족주의, 혹은 국가주의의 퇴조 서사로 읽어낼 수 있다는 점을 확인하였다.
Abstract
This study focused on the division problem represented in TV dramas. The work under study, <Crash Landing on You>, is a love story between the daughter of a southern chaebol and the son of a high－ranking politician in the North. This drama has achieved commercial success through a heterogeneous combination of story format and material. The format of the story reveals the characteristics of the romantic drama genre of ‘fated meeting － love － happy ending’. On the other hand, the subject matter of the story focuses on the reality of division. Paradoxically, this heterogeneous combination is bringing about great success. The interest of this study is, first, how does it differ from the existing paradigm in relation to the reproduction pattern of the division issue, and what is its meaning? Second, can the emergence of new leadership be reduced to a narrative of familism or the decline of nationalism? etc. Although previous studies reflect a wide variety of interests, they are far from resolving the motivation for research on the patterns and meaning of the division issue. In the main text, the research project was explained through the scheme of ‘expectation－expectation violation’. Next, the emergence of new leadership and its meaning were discussed. As a result of the study, the following facts were confirmed. First, the problem of division represented in this work is not driven by changes in external and environmental factors, but rather the work's representational paradigm is driving changes in the external environment. Second, through analysis of the characters' relationships, it was confirmed that it can be interpreted as the emergence of a new form of leadership, and that this can be read as a narrative of the decline of old familism or nationalism.
