인천 연수구 이주배경청소년 생활실태 및 지원방안 - 중앙아시아 및 아랍중동국가 출신자를 중심으로 -

Abstract

In this study, the social adaptation and living conditions of adolescents from Central Asian and Arab Middle East countries living in Incheon were investigated in depth. The purpose of this study is to find a way to support young people of immigrant background to grow up healthy in the community. To this end, a survey was conducted on 171 youths of immigrant background and the opinions of seven multicultural experts were collected to suggest a support plan for immigrant youths. The results of the study showed that the following were needed: 1) guarantee of safe education rights of immigrant youth, 2) customized support for school life adjustment, 3) demand-based theory and employment support, 4) the need for a program to promote cross-cultural exchange, 5) out-of-school area community support. As a task for supporting migrant youth in Incheon, first, effective policies should be established based on the results of a regular survey on migrant youth in Incheon Metropolitan City. Second, Incheon Metropolitan City should plan and expand inter-ministerial cooperation projects such as lifelong education and support for multicultural families. Third, it is necessary to provide a stable learning environment and practical vocational education opportunities to young people with a migration background. Fourth, for the social participation of immigrant youth, it was suggested that multi-faceted support is needed under the cooperation of schools and regions.
