This paper examines the revolutionary dance drama Small-Sword Society to verify its political meaning and artistic value. Small-Sword Society is the first revolutionary dance drama in China, and consists of seven chapters. Each part shows the forms of early China dance, social life, political image, history, and red culture which represents the pioneers’ revolutionary struggle and spirit of sacrifice. Small-Sword Society video (1:17:41) is analyzed to understand the historical background, and cultural forms of revolutionary dance drama of China. This analysis verifies the value of Small-Sword Society. Also, we can check the changing pattern of Chinese revolutionary dance drama.
