Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of non-human actors in public diplomacy under the media environment change. This research conducts the Russia case study of computational propaganda method using non-human actors in the new media. Russia used diverse disinformation to enhance Russin influence in Ukraine even under the national conflicts with it. Russia's case showed that the new non-human actors in the media could exert many disinformation usages and reproduce false information through SNS for enhancing Russia's national image and public acceptance in Ukraine. This study confirmed that in public diplomacy, human actors actively utilize non-human actors to produce positive images of their own and pursue the effect of propaganda that can confuse other countries.
