이 논문은 성서영성학에 대한 논문이다. 성서영성학은 크리스챤이 신앙의 모체인 하나님의 말씀을 읽고 해석하여 삶에 적용함으로 변화를 경험하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 성서영성학은 성경을 정보를 얻기 위해 읽는 것이 아닌 변화를 경험하기 위해 읽는 것에 관심을 둔다. 이런 읽기를 통해 독자는 본문의 소격화와 의미론적 자율성으로 전유와 지평의 융합을 이끌어낸다. 그래서 필자는 이 논문에서 어떻게 독자가 해석학적 읽기를 통해 “세 세계 Three Worlds” (저자의 세계, 본문의 세계, 독자의 세계)가 만나는지 그리고 이런 읽기가 어떤 변화를 가져올 수 있을지 기술하려한다. 이러한 성서영성학의 이해를 돕기 위해 필자는 성경이 역사 속에서 어떻게 이해되었는지 살펴 볼 것이다. 총 여섯 시대 (초대교회, 중세 전반부, 중세 후반부, 종교개혁, 계몽주의와 근대, 근대 이후의 시대)로 나누어서 계시의 언어인 성경이 역사 속에서 어떻게 해석되고 받아졌는지 살펴볼 것이다. 둘째는 성서해석을 이끄는 두 학문 즉 성서학과 성서영성학이 어떻게 같은 결을 가지면서도 다른 시각이 있는지를 다룰 것이다. 성서영성학은 독자가 역사적 텍스트이면서 계시 언어인 성경을 지금 현재의 삶에 적용시켜 이차적 순수성을 경험할 수 있도록 돕는다. 마지막으로는 이런 이론을 바탕으로 사무엘하 11-12장을 해석함으로써, 세 세계 (역사적 비평을 이용한 저자의 세계, 르네 지라르 René Girard의 모방 욕망 이론을 이용한 본문의 세계, 독자반응 비평을 이용한 2017년을 살아가는 독자의 세계)의 지평의 융합이 어떻게 크리스챤의 삶에 변화를 줄 수 있는지 기술할 것이다.
Abstract
This paper is about biblical spirituality and the methodology of Christian spirituality. Biblical spirituality argues that the Christian reader will be transformed through reading the Bible, interpreting it, and applying what it says into his/her daily life. Biblical spirituality seeks not an informative reading but a transformative reading, through which the reader experiences distanciation, semantic autonomy, appropriation, and fusion of horizons. The author illustrates how biblical spirituality helps the reader to meet “three worlds” (the world behind the text, which is historical criticism; the world within the text, which is literary criticism; and the world before the text, which is reader-response criticism) and supports the reader’s transformation. In order to support this argument, the author describes, first, how humans have understood the Bible over the past two thousand years. The author discusses how the Bible was accepted and interpreted during six periods: ancient, early medieval, late medieval, the Reformation, modern, and post modern). Second, the author describes the similarities and differences between biblical studies and the field of biblical spirituality. Biblical spirituality invites the reader into a second naïveté through meeting the revelatory text and applying it to his/her life. Finally, based on this concept, the author interprets the text of 2 Samuel 11–12 and shows how the fusion of the horizons of three worlds—the world of the historical approach, the world of the literary approach (drawing on the mimetic theory of René Girard), and the world of the reader –response approach— offers the reader the opportunity to be transformed.
