메타내러티브로 성경 읽기: 신학적, 철학적, 교육적 이의 및 함의

초록

모든 인간은 이야기를 하는 사람인 호모 나렌스(homo narrans)로서 역사와 문화 속에서 이야기를 통해 삶이 형성되고, 그 안에 거하면서 동시에 새로운 이야기를 창조해 나가는 존재이다. 즉, 사람은 구체적 삶의 내러티브의 정황 가운데 자아와 정체성이 형성되며 발현된다. 기독교인의 자아와 정체성을 형성하고 구현하는 토대와 원천은 하나님의 계시로 쓰인 성경이다. 오늘날 성경은 하나의 명제적 진술서나 혹은 교리서로 읽히는 것을 넘어서서, 하나 님의 일관성 있고 통일성 있는 구속사적 이야기인 거대 서사, 즉 메타내러티 브로 읽혀져야 한다. 과학과 이성에 의존하여 절대적 영향력을 행사해 왔던 메타내러티브의 대한 불신은 포스트모던 시대의 특징이며, 메타내러티브에 대한 불신은 인간의 방향, 비전, 정체성, 자아, 세계관에 혼란을 초래했다. 그 런 면에서 메타내러티브로 성경 읽기는 기독교인에게 적실성 있고 유효하며 참된 세계에 대한 비전과 세계관을 제공한다. 언약에 대한 하나님의 신실하 심과 절대 주권 가운데 역사하시는 구속사적 이야기를 통해 자신이 각자 위 치한 삶의 정황과 자리에서 소명과 부르심을 발견할 수 있으며 삶의 모든 경험을 재맥락화, 재해석함으로 온전한 삶의 정체성과 자아를 형성하게 된다. 본 연구는 메타내러티브를 의심하고 불신하여 정체성과 자아의 혼란을 겪고 있는 포스트모던 사회에서 성경을 다시금 메타내러티브로 이해하여 읽 음으로서 성경적 세계관을 확립하고, 삶에 대한 통일성 있고 일관적인 비전 과 소명을 형성하여 발현할 수 있다고 주장한다.

Abstract

All human beings are Homo narrans, whose lives are formed through stories in history and culture, and they are beings who create new stories while living. In the context of the narrative of concrete life. a person’s self and identity are formed and manifested. The foundation and source of shaping and embodying the Christian self and identity are the Bible. Today, the Bible should go beyond being read as a propositional statement or doctrine and read as a grand narrative, a coherent and unified story of God’s redeem- ing history. Distrust in meta-narrative, which has exerted absolute influence depending on science and reason, is a characteristic of the post-modern era, and distrust in meta-narrative has confused human direction, vision identity, self, and worldview. However, reading the Bible as a metanarrative provides Christians with a vision and worldview of the authentic, valid, and true world. Through the story of God’s faithfulness to the covenant and the history of redemption working in absolute sovereignty, one can discover calling and vocation in the circumstances and places of our re- spective lives, and shape a holistic identity and self by reinterpreting all experiences of life. This study examines establishing a biblical worldview by reading the Bible as a metanarrative in a post-modern society where identity and self are confused by doubting and distrusting meta-narrative, thereby forming a unified and consistent vision and calling for life.
