이 논문의 목적은 다양한 차원의 사회적 화해가 필요한 오늘의 한국 상황에서 교회의 화해사역의 하나로 영성지도를 제안하는 것이다. 사회적 화해는 갈등해결을 통한 평화적 공동체의 창조로서 하나님의 화해사역의 한 부분이 된다. 사회적 화해를 위한 갈등해결을 위해서는 갈등관계의 두 집단(공동체) 구성원들의 의식의 변화, 즉 관계의 변화의 필요성에 대한 의식과 두 집단을 포괄하는 더 넓은 공동체 의식을 갖는 것이 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 공동체 정체성의 변화가 필요하다. 정체성의 변화와 같은 구성원들의 내적변화 없이는 사회적 화해가 지속될 수 없기 때문에 갈등하는 집단 구성원들의 화해의 필요성에 대한 인식과 실천에 대한 의지가 필수적이다. 인간은 사회적. 관계적 존재이기 때문에 인간 삶의 역사는 관계 속에서 일어나는 경험이다. 하나님의 형상으로 창조된 인간은 화해에 대한 갈망이 내재되어 있다. 따라서 삶의 역사에 노정되어 있는 갈등의 관계들에 대한 화해의 열망이 인간의 욕구이다. 영성지도는 피지도자가 그리스도의 화해사역의 은혜를 입은 사람이라는 정체성을 깨닫게 하면서 화해에 대한 갈망을 느끼게 한다. 또한 그리스도의 화해사역을 확장시키고자 하는 소명을 느끼게 하면서 이웃을 향해 화해자의 삶을 살도록 촉구한다. 영성지도 과정에서의 분별을 통해 피지도자들은 공동체에서 하나님의 화해사역의 대리자로서의 삶의 모습을 만들어 가도록 격려되어진다. 기독교인들은 예수 그리스도의 삶을 통해 화해의 가치의 중요성에 대해 배우게 되는데, 예수 그리스도의 성육신이 화해사역을 위한 것이기 때문이다. 따라서 교회의 화해사역을 위해서는 예수 그리스도의 삶과 십자가를 통해 드러난 화해의 영성을 내면화 하는 것이 필요한데, 영성지도가 효과적 공간의 하나가 될 수 있다. 또한 요셉이야기, 야곱과 에서 형제이야기, 다윗이야기 같은 성경 속의 이야기들도 화해를 위한 기도의 자료들이 될 수 있는데, 그들의 갈등과 화해의 이야기는 피지도자들의 화해의 과정을 위한 실례(example)가 된다. 영성지도는 기도와 삶을 통합하도록 피지도자를 이끌면서 그들의 화해자로서의 소명을 격려하는 공간이 된다.
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to suggest spiritual direction as a space for reconciliation ministry in today’s Korean Church. Social reconciliation becomes part of God’s reconciliation ministry as it leads to a peaceful community through resolution of conflict. To achieve social reconciliation, members of conflicting groups need to change their consciousness to include the other groups rather than opposing each other, as this will lead to a broader sense of community. To do that, members need to change their perspective concerning the identity of other groups. Since social reconciliation can not be sustained without the members’ inner change, community members need to be more aware of the necessity of reconciliation and practice of reconciliation. Since humans are social and relational beings, the history of human life is a series of experiences which happened in their relationships. Humans being created in God’s image have an inherent yearning for reconciliation. Therefore, the longing for reconciliation of conflicts made in the course of human life is a desire of people. Spiritual direction helps directees to be aware of their identity as beings to receive the grace of Christ’ reconciliation ministry and to feel thirsty for reconciliation. Moreover, spiritual direction helps directees to find their vocation to extend Christ’ reconciliation ministry and then exhort to live the reconciler’s life toward their neighbours. Through discernment made in the course of spiritual direction, directees are encouraged to make their shape of life as the representation of God’s reconciliation ministry. Christians are able to learn the value of reconciliation exposed through Jesus Christ. Therefore, Christians need to internalize the spirituality of reconciliation revealed through Christ’ life and the cross as the foundation of reconciliation ministry of Church. In addition, the Bible stories such as the story of Joseph, the story of Jacob and Esau, and the story of David can be resources for prayer for reconciliation because the stories of their conflicts and reconciliation can be examples for the process of directees’ reconciliation. Spiritual direction can be an effective space to encourage integrating directee’s prayer and life in order to find their vocation as reconcilers.
