의례를 통해 본 사별슬픔 치유와 목회 돌봄 -여성의례를 중심으로-

의례는 인간이 살아가는 삶 속에 늘 동반한다. 관혼상제와 같은 통과의례를 비롯하여 종교적인 의례는 말할 것도 없고, 세분화된 현대사회에는 더 많은 의례들이 존재한다. 특별히, 인생의 전환기에 있어 의례는 한 단계 앞으로 나아가도록 돕는 기능을 한다. 장례와 추모 등 슬픔과 고통의 시기에 행하게 되는 의례는 죽음을 공식화하고, 위로를 전해주며, 애도의 과정을 잘 통과하도록 돕는다. 의례의 활용은 목회 돌봄으로 이어져야 한다. 의례를 통해 사별자들은 하나님과 만나는 영적 체험과 더불어, 삶에 대한 새로운 관점을 발견하게 되는 성스러운 순간을 경험 할 수 있다. 의례를 통한 거룩한 경험은 삶의 의미와 가치를 새롭게 하며 삶을 지속하도록 돕는 힘이 된다. 본 논문에서는 의례의 이론들을 다루면서 의례란 무엇인지, 의례의 종류와 의례를 구성하는 요소에는 어떤 것들이 있는지, 의례의 기능은 무엇인지 먼저 살펴본다. 또한, 치유적인 의례를 위해서 여성의례에서 말하는 중요한 요소들이 무엇인지 기술한다. 상징, 언어와 비언어, 침묵과 탄식, 기억과 회상은 역사적으로 학대와 억압을 경험한 여성들에게 치유와 해방을 경험하게 하는 요소들이다. 이러한 의례의 기능과 여성의례의 가치는 슬픔 치유를 위한 목회적 돌봄에 적용될 수 있다. 기독교의 슬픔 치유의례는 하나님의 거룩함을 발견하는 리미널러티와 공동체성을 경험하는 커뮤니타스의 현장이 되어야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문은 효과적인 목회 돌봄을 위한 슬픔 치유의례의 구성과 돌봄을 위한 목회적 관점을 제시한다.
Abstract
This paper deals with ritual. People live with ritual in everyday life even though they are aware or not. From rites of passage to liturgies, there are many kind of rituals. In these days, various rituals have been created as different cultures have developed. Rituals help people move forward to other levels in the of crisis. The important function of rituals is transformation. Particularly, funeral and memorial services function in publicly announcing the death, providing comfort, and helping the bereaved get through grief process. For pastoral care, pastors need to perform rituals creatively so that people encounter to God, experience sacred moment, and found new meaning and value of their lives. In this paper, I examine the function of ritual from a basic concept of ritual to the ritual power of transformation. Second, I look into the perspectives of feminist liturgy and some crucial factors in feminist liturgy such as healing, lament, memory, and language that leads to create a guideline for grieving people. From ritual and feminist liturgical perspectives, I explore the meaning of Christian funeral and memorial services. Christian rituals need to be linked to a sacred moment experiencing liminality and communitas. Lastly, this paper suggest ways of effective pastoral care for bereaved individuals employing the transformative power of rituals.
