“복음을 설교하는 것”에 대한 설교학적 함의

설교는 복음을 증거하는 것이다. 많은 설교자들이 이와 같은 사실에는 동의하면서도 정작 복음이 무엇이며 복음을 증거한다는 것이 실제 설교 작성에서 어떻게 적용되어야 하는지에 대해 묻지 않는다. 그렇다면 설교자가 복음을 정의해야 하고 복음을 선포하는 것이 자신의 설교에서 어떻게 적용되어야 하는지를 알아야 하는 이유는 무엇인가? 복음은 모든 기독교 활동의 근거이지만 오늘날 복음에 대한 정의가 모든 설교자에게 동일한 것은 아니다. 그러나 설교 활동의 중심에는 언제나 그 설교자의 복음 이해가 자리한다. 이것은 복음을 어떻게 이해하고 정의하느냐에 따라 한 설교자의 설교가 완전히 달라진다는 말이다. 따라서 설교자는 언제나 자신이 생각하는 복음은 무엇이며 이것을 자신의 설교에 적용하는 실제적인 방법이 무엇인지를 질문해야 한다. 본 논문의 목적은 복음을 증거한다는 것이 이론적으로 무엇이며 이것이 설교 작성에서 실제로 어떻게 구현되는지를 살펴보는 것이다. 본 논문의 잠정적인 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 성경 본문을 설교하는 것과 복음을 설교하는 것은 다르다. 성경 본문은 복음을 발견하는 창이며 복음을 선포하기 위한 통로이다. 둘째, 복음을 선포한다는 것은 실제 설교에서 다음과 같은 적용점을 갖는다. ① 복음을 선포하는 설교는 하나님이 중심이 되셔야 한다. 이를 위해 설교자는 성경 본문 속에서 하나님을 발견해야 하고 작성된 설교문에서도 하나님이 주어가 되도록 해야 한다. ② 복음이 기쁜 소식이라면 복음을 선포하는 설교 역시 기쁜 소식이 되어야 하고 청중들에게 희망을 전하는 것이어야 한다. ③ 복음을 선포하는 설교는 인간이 죄인임을 드러내는 율법과 함께 선포되어야 한다. ④ 복음을 선포하는 설교는 다양한 하나님의 모습을 담아내기 위해 다양한 설교 형식을 사용해야 한다.
Abstract
Preach a sermon is to preach the gospel. Although several preachers acknowledge that a sermon is to preach the gospel, they seldom ask what the gospel is and how it can be applied to their actual sermon preparation. Then, why is it important to ask questions such as what the gospel is and how a preach applies her/his own understanding of preaching the gospel to her/his sermons? Even though the gospel is the center of all activities of Christianity, contemporary preachers define the gospel differently. However, a preacher’s understanding of the gospel is always the center of her/his preaching ministry. In other words, a precher’s homiletic ministry can be totally different according to how she/he defines the gospel. Therefore, preachers should frequently have a definition of the gospel and the practical methods to apply their definitions of the gospel to their sermons. The main purpose of this article is to define a theoretical meaning of preaching the gospel and its homiletical applications. My conclusion might be what comes next. First, preaching the biblical text is different from preaching the gospel. The text is the window and method to find the gospel in the Bible and to preach it. Next, preaching the gospel has some practical applications: ① A sermon to preach the gospel makes God its center. For it, a preacher should not only find God in the biblical exegesis but also make Him the main character in her/his sermons. ② If the gospel were a good new, a sermon to preach the gospel should be a good new and give hearers hope. ③ Preaching the gospel should be done with the law which uncovers men as sinner. ④ A sermon of preaching the gospel should have many sermon forms to deal with diversity of God.
