전남 남서 해안에 분포하는 주상절리의 특징

연구지역에 분포하는 주상절리는 해안절벽을 형성하고 있으며, 미정질 내지 은미정질의 기질에 석영과 장석 반정이 분포하는 유문암류에 해당하는 유문반암에 발달되어 있다. 주상절리의 형태적인 분석에 의하면 연구지역의 주상절리는 주상절리 기둥의 길이는 2~5m, 다각형의 형태는 5각형이 우세하며, 직경과 절리면 폭은 10~19cm의 범위가 가장 우세한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 주상절리면 사이의 각은 110°~129°가 대부분을 차지한다.
Abstract
The columnar joint widely distributed around the study area formed the sea cliffs. And, it was well-developed around the rhyolite porphyry corresponding to the rhyolite types that the phenocryst of quartz and feldspar were distributed around the matrix of microcrystalline and cryptocrystalline. According to the morphological analysis of columnar joint, the column length of columnar joint around the study area was 2~5m. And, the pentagon type prevailed among the polygon types. The column diameter and column face width occupied 10~19cm most. Most columns have from 110? to 129? in angle between the adjacent edges.
