초록
Reviewing recent academic research on neoliberal feminism, this article explores four noticeable currents of neoliberal feminism that have emerged in the U.S. and Europe particularly since the 2010s. Approaching neoliberalism as a contemporary form of gevernmentality that disciplines people as human capital, I discuss how the neoliberal politics of affect produces the individual as entrepreneurial self and works to thoroughly privatize social responsibility. Emerging from the sites where feminism converges with neoliberal marketization of almost all dimensions of life, neoliberal feminism reshapes feminist politics and women’s lives while producing new kinds of feminist subjects. I argue that corporate feminism, popular feminism, balance feminism and neoliberal selfie feminism are contemporary forms of neoliberal feminism that need to be historicized in order to understand both the power and limits of these discourses.
