유치원 교사의 색채교육에 대한 인식 및 실태 조사 - 서울·경기 지역 사립유치원 교사를 중심으로 -

Abstract

This study is mainly concerned with researching the perception and the actual conditions of the color education in the kindergarten. For the purpose of this study, the research was carried out using 143 early childhood teachers of 52 kindergartens located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The results of the survey can be summarized as follows. First, early childhood teachers recognize the close correlation between the color and the life and the need for the color education due to the effect on the children’s emotional development. Second, early childhood teachers recognize both the fact that early childhood teachers, who understand the characteristic and the developmental level of a child, should be in charge of the color education during the early childhood and the beginning of the color education to the children aged three and above when they can recognize the color. Third, the color education during the early childhood is mainly about the impression, the name and the mixture of the color and it is regarded that teaching with a natural object in the early childhood is the most important. Fourth, it is recognized that the teacher’s color sensation and the color surroundings have an effect on the development of the children’s color sensation. Fifth, it is regarded that the early childhood teachers are short of the knowledge and the understanding about the color and the developmental stage of it. Sixth, the early childhood teachers have never taught the color separately in the kindergarten and do it on demand. Seventh, the shortage of both the teaching aids for the color education and the elementary knowledge about the color makes the color instruction difficult. Eighth, the early childhood teachers recognize the necessity of the reeducation about the color education and need the elementary knowledge about the color most.
