유·아동의 색인지 발달을 위한 섬유 색채 교구의 활용 및 효과 연구 -5~7세 미취학 유·아동을 중심으로-

인간은 주위의 모든 자연환경과 일상 공간에서 색을 느끼고 인지하며 살아가고 있다. 색은 우리가 의식적으로 알지 못하는 삶의 깊은 공간 속에도 존재하며 인간의 심리적, 물리적인 면에 끊임없이 영향을 일으키는 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히 유·아동은 색을 인지하는 과정에서 발생하는 경험을 통해 외부세상과 자신을 연결하며, 아동의 환경, 교육, 주관적 경험은 색을 인지하는 데 있어 많은 영향을 끼친다. 하지만 현재 대부분의 유·아동의 색채 교육활동은 컬러링북과 연습 도안을 통해 아이들에게 교육되고 있으며, 나뭇잎은 녹색, 하늘은 파란색, 태양은 붉은색 등 일률적인 색 지식의 수용을 목적으로 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 유·아동들에게 다양한 색인지를 경험하게 하고, 색 본연이 주는 변화와 즐거움을 이해시키는 데 그 목적을 두었다. 본 연구는 부산/경남 지역 미취학 유·아동 40명을 대상으로 하였고, 유·아동의 색인지 변화를 측정하기 위하여 본 연구자가 개발한 섬유 색채 교구 토 앤 토우를 활용하였으며, 특정 대상의 빛 변화를 통해 물체에 대한 아동의 색인지에 대하여 연구하였다. 초기, 유·아동은 특정 사물에 대한 단편적이고 일률적인 채색과 색인지를 나타내었으나, 교구를 활용한 색채 체험 활동 후 물체에 대한 색 표현의 다양화 및 색인지에 대한 경험이 확장되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 결과적으로 다양한 색채 경험은 유·아동의 미적 정서를 풍부하게 함과 동시에, 특정 대상에 대한 획일화 된 색 표현을 탈피하게 하고, 자유로운 색채 표현과 풍부한 색 경험을 습득하는 데 있어 도움을 줄 수 있다. 본 연구가 유·아동의 다각적인 색채 활동을 도모하고, 유·아동 색인지 연구의 기초자료로써 섬유 색채 교구의 활용에 올바른 방향성을 제시하길 바란다.
Abstract
Humans live by feeling and recognizing colors in all surrounding natural environments and everyday spaces. Color exists even in the deep space of life that we are consciously unaware of and plays an important role in constantly influencing the psychological and physical aspects of humans. In particular, infants and children connect themselves with the outside world through the experiences that occur in the process of recognizing colors, and the child’s environment, education, and subjective experience have a great influence on recognizing colors. However, most of the current color education activities for infants and children are educating children through coloring books and practice designs, and are being conducted for the purpose of accepting uniform color knowledge such as green leaves, blue sky, and red sun. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to allow infants and children to experience various color perceptions and to understand the changes and pleasures provided by the nature of color. This study targeted 40 preschoolers and children in the Busan/Gyeongnam region, and used Toe and Toe, a textile color teaching tool developed by this researcher, to measure the change in color perception of children, and measured the light change of a specific target. Through this study, children’s index perception of objects was studied. In the early days, infants and children showed fragmentary and uniform coloring and color recognition for specific objects, but after color experience activities using teaching aids, it was confirmed that the diversification of color expression for objects and the experience of color recognition were expanded. As a result, various color experiences can enrich the aesthetic emotions of infants and children, help them break away from the standardized color expression for a specific object, and help them acquire free color expression and rich color experience. It is hoped that this study will promote diversified color activities of infants and children and suggest the right direction for the utilization of textile color teaching aids as basic data for color cognition research in infants and children.
