金尙憲 漢詩에 사용된 ‘惆悵’의 쓰임새 考察

Abstract

Cheong-eum Kim Sang-heon(1570-1652) was the leader of Chuk-hwapa in the middle period of Joseon dynasty. He was also representative of integrity. Not only in Korea, he was also respected in Ching dynasty. He and his brother were presumed as the ancestors of Jangdong-Kim family. He fought the North faction all his life, and his arresting in Shim-yang during Byeong-ja War was an everlasting scar to our country. Therefore, the poems of Cheong-eum were not based on leisure and delight, but portrayed the sorrow and the loneliness. In the pensive or plaintive poems of Cheong-eum, some words appeared intermittently in the first or second syllable. The word 'Choo-Chang' was used 62 times continuously and was also the word used most frequently in one poem. Further, it was a clue to discover another aspect of the poetry of Cheong-eum. In the quatrain and the poem of eight lines, the word 'Choo-Chang' was used with the same frequency. But it appeared with the ratio 53:8 of seven-character poems to five-character ones, which showed that it would be much easier and helpful to express the emotions of the poets with the seven-character poems. The word 'Choo-Chang' was showed in different ways in poetry. It was not only used in the situation of separation of life or death, but was also used to convey the feeling of missing or the uncertainty of life. In addition, the poets used it to describe the nostalgia which was brought by sorrowful or natural scenes as well. Accordingly, depends on the different situations, the word 'Choo-Chang' could speak the mood of the poets in various ways, and could also make a great impression to express one’s feelings and emotions.
