『관동별곡』의 인지시학적 연구

This study examined the writer’s mental process by analyzing the speaker’s viewpoint and linguistic expressions in 『Gwandongbyeolgok』, one of the representative travel journals in the literary genre field called Gasa, within the framework of cognitive poetic theory. The results are as follows: First, in 『Gwandongbyeolgok』, the writer’s mental process moved from ‘목민관(governor)’ to ‘여행자(traveler)’ and ‘신선(god)’, and then returned to ‘목민관(governor)’ in speaker’s viewpoint. The writer’s mental process appeared as ‘목민관(governor)’ and ‘여행자(traveler)’, and ‘여행자(traveler)’ and ‘신선(god)’ overlapping, but there was no overlap between ‘신선(god)’ and ‘목민관(governor).’ Second, linguistic expressions in the literary work were examined to find out some manifestations of conceptual metonymy, metaphor, and conceptual blending. Proper nouns such as place names or person names indicate the actual motion in space and the epistemic space representing the motion within the writer’s mental process through conceptual metonymy. In addition, throughout the literary work, a variety of conceptual metaphors, such as COMPRESSION/FLOW OF TIME IS MOTION, THINKING IS MOVING, and DYNAMICS IS MOTION PERCEPTION, were found to appear, and the story-world in 『Gwandongbyeolgok』 is perceived to be a conceptual blending. In the work, the theme of ‘戀君之情(yearning for his king)’ was highlighted on the basis of the two conflicts.

Abstract
