As part of preparing for the groundwork for color word in literary Manchu, this paper aims to understand the meanings of color word adjuncts. Added to color words, ‘color word adjuncts’ limit the meanings of the words. Largely, three kinds of color word adjuncts are found in seven Manchu dictionaries: suffix, adverb, and definition word. Suffix: -hūri, -kan/ken/kon (as in fulahūri, lamukan etc.)Adverb: tumin, gelfiyen (as in tumin niowanggiyan, gelfiyen lamun etc.)Definition word: gelfiyeken (as in gelfiyeken fulgiyan etc.)
