This paper studies the relation between women and culture on the basis of the newspaper reports in the early 2000s and the early 2010s. For a comparison, the relation between men and culture is also studied. The method of analysis is to find topic related words to ‘woman’, ‘man’ and ‘culture’. A close examination shows that in the early 2000s, women and men were not so different in their relation to culture but in the early 2010s, while women’s close relation to culture continued, men’s relation to culture greatly diminished. In both of the periods, women are closely related to arts (‘film, writer, fashion’) and social issue including welfare (‘movement, activity, welfare’).
