Sincethehorizontalglobalradiationandhoursofbrightsunshineareamainfactorfordesigningphotovoltaic system,itisnecessary toevaluateitscharacteristicsalloverthecountry.Thework presented herearethe investigation ofhorizontalglobalradiation and hours ofbrightsunshine in Korea.The data utilized in the investigationconsistofhorizontalglobalradiationandhoursofbrightsunshinecollectedfor28years(1982.12～2009.12)atmeasuringstationsacrossthecountry.Theanalysisshowsthattheannual-averagedailyhorizontal globalradiationis3.61kWh/m2andtheannual-averagedailyhoursofbrightsunshineis5.1HrsinKorea.We alsoconstructedthecontourmapofhoursofhorizontalglobalradiationandhoursofbrightsunshineinKoreaby interpolatingactuallymeasureddataacrossthecountry.
