대기업과 협력중소기업 성과지표와 격차 분석 :자동차산업을 중심으로

본 논문에서는 한국 자동차 산업 기업들의 재무성과 자료를 이용하여 위탁대기업과 협력중소기업 사이에 존재하는 성과격차를 분석하였다. 그 결과 인건비수준은 위탁대기업에 비하여 협력중소기업의 경우가 훨씬 낮게 나타나고 있지만, 위탁대기업의 영업이익률 지표를 볼 때 협력기업들의 성과가 위탁대기업에 비해 큰 격차가 있는 것은 아니라는 것을 발견하였다. 하지만 기업특성별 심층 분석을 통하여, 협력기업체 중에서도 계열사일수록, 규모가 큰 상위 업체일수록 영업이익률이 높으며 이들은 완성차업체보다도 오히려 높은 영업이익률을 시현하고 있음을 발견했다. 따라서 전체 협력기업 평균을 이용한 지표는 현실을 잘 설명하지 못한다고 할 수 있다. 또한 이익률로 본 기업성과격차는 축소되고 있지만 일인당인건비 측면에서 성과가 줄어들지 않고 오히려 더 확대되고 있는 것을 발견했다. 성과의 배분이 인건비라는 형태를 통해서 위탁대기업에 유리하게 배분되고 있는 것이다.
Abstract
This paper investigates the performance gap between the large firm and its' subcontracted firms in motor vehicle industries by using the firm level financial data from KIS-value. The labor cost per employee and the ratio of operating profit to net sales are used as the performance criteria. We found the following results. First, the profit rate are pretty higher in the affiliates than in the non affiliates, and are higher in the larger firms than in smaller firms. Second, the performance gap is bigger when we used the per capita labor cost than when we used the profit rate. The results seem to show that the distribution structure of the performance is favoring the large firms and affiliates firms in the form of wage than in the form of profit rate.
