For several years, the profile of cooperatives is rapidly fading. There is confusion about the meaning of cooperative principles and practices and the differences between them. It is not yet clear to distinguish between cooperatives and commercial firms. The main cause is not that the cooperative principles are not good, but that they are not well kept. This means that the cooperative identity should be made clear -either in facto or in name only- in order to keep the character of an organization oriented to promoting its member’s interests. In this context, it is important, through a conscious fostering and emphasizing of co-operative identity, to enable the co-operative leader to identity the cooperative's unique character. In this paper, three topics will be discussed; 1) the meaning of cooperative principles and features, 2) the structural limit of cooperative, 3) the attitude of cooperative leader, followed by a summary and conclusion.
