자율성에 대한 비판적 검토를 통한 교육적 이상으로서의 의미 고찰

이 연구는 기존에 논의된 자율성 개념의 한계를 비판적으로 고찰하고, 교육적 이상으로서자율성의 종합적 의미를 재정립하는 데 목적이 있다. 이러한 취지에서 먼저 현대사회의 다원화, 다문화 경향과 입시 위주의 교육환경 속에서 자율성이 교육의 목적으로서 왜 필요한지를고찰하였다. 교육적 이상으로서의 자율성은 타인과의 적극적 의사소통 및 스스로의 합리적 반성을 통하여 구현될 수 있다. 또한 자율성은 공동체의 가치를 바탕으로 더욱 다양한 가치들을비판적으로 검토하는 한편, 체계화된 지식 형식으로의 입문을 통하여 함양된다. 그러나 여기서더 나아가 교육적 이상으로서의 자율성은 고유한 자아 성찰과 결의를 추구하며, 첨예한 윤리적문제에 직면하여 자신의 신념과 삶의 진로에 대한 치열한 숙고를 통한 판단의 책무성을 함양시킬 때 이루어질 수 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to review critically the existing academic discussions on themeaning of autonomy and to reconstruct the synthetic meaning of it as an educationalideal from various philosophical perspectives. On this purpose, it shows first why autonomy is necessary in the plural,multicultural society and test-oriented educational practices. Autonomy as aneducational ideal, in the face of external impacts and value conflicts, exploresrationality through communication with others and internal reflection. Autonomy as an educational ideal critically examines various values on the basis ofthe community's values and traditions. It also pursues the authentic self and lifedecision as well as enhance of rationality through the introduction to the forms ofknowledges. In the deepest sense, it would be realized when one enhances the burdens ofjudgement, in the face of the conflicts of ethical problems, through the deepobservation whether keeping one's existing belief or changing it to a new one.
